Utmaningen
Jag trodde det här skulle vara roligt att se resultaten för. Den här är uppenbarligen mot den mer avancerade sidan av spektrumet. Utmaningen är att skriva din egen 6502 CPU-emulator. Detta innebär naturligtvis att förstå dess instruktionsuppsättning och dess kodningsformat Resurser är länkade längst ner i detta. 6502 är en av de enklaste processorerna i verkligheten att efterlikna. För denna utmaning behöver du inte oroa dig för cykeltid om du inte vill – men det är alltid ett plus att inkludera!

När din kod fungerar kan du alltid gå en extra mil om du vill och förvandla den till en Apple II-emulator, eller NES, C64, VIC-20 eller någon av de andra miljarder gamla 6502 -baserade system från och med dagen.

Ladda 48 KB-binären i minnesutrymmet på din emulator till $ 4000, vilket lämnar 16 KB läs-skriv-RAM-minne under det. När testet är klart ska värdet i adressen $ 0210 vara $ FF, om din CPU klarade. Du vet att testet är klart när programräknaren (PC) har nått adressen $ 45C0.

Gör något mer interaktivt med det
När din CPU fungerar kommer du förmodligen att vilja göra något roligare än att stirra på testutdata! Jag samlade en ROM-bild av Enhanced BASIC för 6502. Det är 16 kB, så du bör ladda den till $ C000 av ditt emulerade minnesutrymme, återställa din virtuella 6502 och börja körningen.

Det sätt som EhBASIC hanterar input / output är mycket enkelt. När den vill skriva ett tecken till konsolen skriver den byten till minnesplatsen $ F001. Så när din emulator ser 6502 försöka skriva till den platsen, skriv helt enkelt ut det teckenvärdet till konsolen med en printf (”% c”, värde); eller hur som helst du vill. (Den här utmaningen är förstås inte begränsad till C)
När den avfrågar om ett tecken som matas in från konsolen, är det s ganska lika. Det fortsätter att läsa från minnesplatsen $ F004, där du ska ha nästa ASCII-teckenvärde från tangentbordet som väntar på att läsas. Om det inte finns mer inmatning att läsa, ska det returnera värdet noll.
EhBASIC mäter värdet på den platsen tills den inte är noll, vilket låter den veta att byten är giltigt tangentbord. Det är därför om det inte finns mer ingång att läsa, bör emulatorn returnera noll där. EhBASIC snurrar på den tills nästa giltiga nyckel när den letar efter inmatning.
Om du inte rensar värdet till noll efter att det läser det sista nyckelvärdet, kommer det att få det att upprepas som om du höll nyckeln nere, så var noga med att göra det korrekt!

Lediga byte kan var annorlunda för dig, men i min emulator begränsade jag det skrivbara minnesområdet till ett lock på 32 kB. Du kan verkligen gå hela vägen upp till var ROM-skivan börjar, vilket är 48 kB-märket.

- Stöder BCD.
- CPU-klockcykeltid. (inklusive justeringar på vissa sidgränsomslag)

En MOS 6502-emulator i Haskell. Funktionerna inkluderar:
- exakt implementering inklusive subtil P-registerhantering och sidomslag under indexering och indirektion
- minneskartad IO, med spinnslingdetektering (så att värd-CPU inte t peg medan du väntar på inmatning)
- avkänning av stopp (hoppar / grenar till sig själv)
- CPU implementerad i exakt 200 rader & 6502 tecken på kod
- CPU-implementering är ren state monad

För alla intresserade trodde jag att jag skulle dela min implementering av 6502 i C #. Som med andra inlägg här är det helt oklart men är en funktion som är komplett implementering.
- Stöder NMOS och CMOS
- Inkluderar flera testprogram inklusive AllSuite-testet ovan som enhetstest.

Jag startade detta projekt genom att skapa ett kalkylark med instruktioner när jag först lärde mig om CPU: n. Jag insåg att jag kunde använda det här kalkylarket för att spara lite skrivning. Jag förvandlade detta till en textfiltabell som emulatorn laddar för att hjälpa till att räkna cykler och för enkel demontering.

- Tack @StanStrum!Det var ett SE-inlägg för flera år sedan om en 8086-emulator som fick mig intresserad av emulering och lära mig hur dessa enheter faktiskt fungerade. Det ’ har varit jättekul. Förutom ovanstående har jag en komplett 8080-emulator och en 8086 som är ungefär 90% klar.
